The 3 deadly weapons (in term sheets) that Kill Entrepreneurs..
Rodinhood’s comment was that if VC means Venture Capital, it should remain Venture Capital and not Vampire Capital. Hence, the fair multiple was 1x of the principal back and NOT 2x or 3x etc, etc, in favor of the VCs. 1x ensured return of Capital and nothing more if the Company was sold in extraneous circumstances. Yoda visits Rodinhood
Yoda – ‘Rodinhood, I believe entrepreneurs are the new Jedi Knights. The military battles of the universe are over and economic battles have begun…..I see massive Armies of Disruption coming. Also, Change Agents that are neither easy to handle nor subdued in their aggression are storming the Galaxies…..Change has the complexion of the Dark Side. Think and think hard. Change comes unannounced and often at times when you least want it….You must as an entrepreneur learn to conceal pain and troubles and carry on as if nothing bothers you.

ALWAYS miss the Woods for the TREES..
The effort to be ‘special’ is a never-ending process. Big trees that stopped being special and tried to grow new avatars of themselves have suffered badly. Sony to me was the best ‘music machine maker’ out there – Music systems and Walkmans was Sony’s signature. Not any more. They got distracted making lots of other gadgetry and Apple’s iPod just lumber jacked them. Continue reading

A small fledgling company positioned itself so cleverly to an old media behemoth and the values that it extracted are now historical and soul shattering. Unfortunately, in the case of Time Warner, what they thought was ‘Al Dente’ Internet Pasta turned out to be Al Dente Rotting Garbage. Continue reading

Which Train are you Riding?
The train is my metaphor of travelling – not distances but careers and lives, and how the decisions that we make may turn into the best or worst journeys ever!…..You can choose to be a Subway rat or board the Inter-City, Long Haul and even Cross Country Train! Continue reading

A Stormtrooper pays me a visit…
Are you humanoid 257142 of Inter Galactic Milky way planet Earth immediately hissed a menacing electronic voice……
There is no good or bad side. It’s just what you believe in. It’s all about a balance between two sides. In case of entrepreneurs, so many decisions can be labeled as ‘dark side’.
Stormtrooper spoke ‘I think your readers will benefit from just understanding how we function – not why we function. We are extremely organized. We know exactly what to do and how to do it. Entrepreneurs often don’t get into the finer details of execution and that harms them quickly’. Continue reading
